The Beautiful Gate

Friends of the crippled man would drop him off at the temple gate called Beautiful, every day of the year. It seemed the best place to find alms or mercy as people were going in to the temple to find mercy from God. Acts 3:1
But that day was a moment that God had planned all along. The lame man was in the right place at the right time, with the right people. A divine connection for an encounter with God and release from his past limitations. What God plans to do with us and for us, is usually through a connection with the right person at the right time, at the right place.
If the apostles had arrived there at night or had gone to preach in the market, they would have also missed this moment. Location matters with God. There is a right “place” for you this year and if your not in it, you can miss some beautiful moments.
Jesus said in John “I must go through Samaria.” He knew there was a woman who would reach the entire city.
Jonah was instructed to go to Nineveh that year, not Spain!
Abraham had to leave the father’s house and go to another land.
Ruth could not have been a blessing or been blessed, if she was not gone back to Bethlehem. Location, location, location.
Esther was a blessing because Mordecai helped her move from the house into the palace.
Often it is who sees us and sees who we are, that determines the favour that comes to us. Of course it was God at work but Joseph was seen in the right place at the right time. Joseph never got promoted until Pharaoh saw him and lifted him up. Ruth didn’t receive favour until Boaz saw her. Moses never got picked up and brought into the royal house until the daughter of Pharaoh saw him.
There’s plenty of places where we can work or serve where we will be tolerated. But there are special places where we will be celebrated. Our lives are helped or hindered by the people we associate with. God intends to bless us but His greatest blessing is in the right place. If your meant to lead a small group you might have to get out of the choir!
Friend, do you need a shift? Are you in the wrong ministry at the wrong time. Is God telling you to move to something different? It may be a stretch but when you are in the right place at the right time, there can be many beautiful moments.
