Every believer has troubles; they might be different from yours, and they may not appear to have them, but believe me they do. Troubles are part of life for believers and non believers. Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” This means that trouble is normal but our way through them is not! We are delivered from or through them by the power and presence of our Savior. All believers need some trials or troubles to enable us to mature. No mother has a baby without some pain and there is no degree without some study. We all want to a quick solution to our problems and to be mature at the flick of a switch. But as someone said “There is no glory without a story.” The path to maturity is not smooth, short or level!
Knowing troubles are normal, helps us persevere. In the natural world all sunshine makes a desert and we too need sunny and cloudy days. Whenever we don’t have the right perspective, we will usually have the wrong emotions. We often can’t change our problem but we can change our perspective. We can’t change having to go through it but we can change how we look at the situation. The pregnant lady who is swollen and awkward feels okay because she knows it’s normal. We can cope with trouble when we understand it’s normal and necessary for growth as a believer. James said that we can rejoice in trials if we know it is working out something beneficial in our lives. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:3-4 Also knowing that everyone has them is helpful. “Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 1Peter 5:9
Friend, when the enemy tells you that you have been over looked by God evidenced by your difficulties, resists him! The devil is a liar and your Father is developing your faith for a greater assignment
