Peter and John knew they didn’t have any money to give to the lame man at the Beautiful gate. We will never create a beautiful moment by what we don’t have. Beautiful moments are created by giving what you do have. We can’t fix anyone whose need is something, you don’t have the gift to fix.
You have to know what you can’t do and what you don’t have. If people leave depressed, every time they talk to us – we don’t have the gift of encouragement! But you still might have the gift of serving; so maybe vacuum their house and give them a two hour break. If people walk away when you’re singing, your gift probably isn’t singing. If you haven’t raised a dead person yet, keep trying on close relatives. Don’t experiment with that gift at some stranger’s funeral and on TV.
God has given every person a gift that is designed to heal or help a problem that someone has. If you can discern who the people are that you are sent to and the problem they have, that you have the gift to heal, you will create a beautiful moment. God has created us to solve problems or heal a need. All the parts of our body are created to meet a need or solve a problem. We needed to be able to hear so our ears solve that problem. We need to be able to see so our eyes solve that problem. We need to be able to communicate so our mouth meets that need.
God has created everything with a purpose and for his pleasure.
Rev 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
Our purpose in life is to solve the “problem” for the people that you have been sent to. There are people who need you. God has got them waiting at the gate. Somebody needs you to solve their problem or bring Gods answer to their need.
Jeremiah was created to be a prophet to the nations of Israel and to meet the special need they had in his day. The people of Israel while in bondage needed a deliverer -Moses was the gift to meet that need. When he was in the right place, at the right time with the right people, he discovered his place in history.
Your gift of organisation is something somebody needs. God plans for your gift of exhortation and encouragement, to be released into someone’s life tomorrow. There is no one like you. You are unique. Our purpose in life is not our decision but is our discovery; we need to discern by the Holy Spirit what we don’t have and what we do have, for like Peter and John you could meet someone in the next few minutes that needs what you have and your gift can give a lame man back his legs.
